Alipay

Alipay for selling tickets

Reach buyers who pay with Alipay — the super-app used every day across mainland China. Let attendees check out with their Alipay wallet instead of a card, settle in renminbi to your own merchant account, and sell directly from your Evenda event page.

Why Alipay for your event

Alipay is one of the most widely used mobile wallets in mainland China, where many people rarely carry a physical card. Offering it at checkout removes a real barrier for Chinese attendees, who can pay with a balance, a linked bank account or a QR scan in a flow they already know and trust.

How buyers pay with Alipay

  • Scan a QR code or confirm the purchase in the Alipay app on their phone
  • Pay from an Alipay balance or a linked Chinese bank account
  • Check out in the language and flow they use every day
  • No card or separate wallet account needed beyond Alipay itself

Settlement in renminbi

Payments are processed in CNY and settle to your own Alipay merchant account. Because the integration uses the mainland Alipay Open API, it is designed for organizers who hold a Chinese business license and collect in renminbi rather than for cross-border acceptance.

Built on the Alipay Open API

Evenda connects through alipay.trade.page.pay, the web checkout from the Alipay Open API. Each request is signed with your RSA2 private key, and every payment is confirmed by a server-to-server notification that Evenda verifies with the Alipay public key. Order status stays reliable even if the buyer closes the page right after paying.

Frequently asked questions

Who should use Alipay on Evenda?
Alipay suits organizers who hold a mainland China merchant account and want to sell to attendees in China. Buyers pay from the Alipay app, and funds settle in renminbi to your own account.
Do buyers need a card to pay?
No. Buyers pay from their Alipay wallet using a balance, a linked Chinese bank account or a QR scan, which is how many people in mainland China pay every day.
Which currency does Alipay settle in?
The mainland Alipay integration processes payments in CNY and settles to your Alipay merchant account, so it is built for collecting in renminbi.
What do I need to connect Alipay?
You need an Alipay merchant account from open.alipay.com, an app with an APPID, an RSA2 key pair and the Alipay public key. You then paste the APPID, your merchant private key and the Alipay public key into the Alipay connection in Evenda.
How is a payment confirmed?
After a buyer pays, Alipay sends a server-to-server notification that Evenda verifies with the Alipay public key before marking the order paid, so the status is reliable even if the buyer closes the page.
Can foreign merchants accept Alipay this way?
This integration is for a mainland Alipay account that settles in renminbi. Cross-border acceptance for foreign merchants is a separate product and is not covered here.
How much does Alipay charge?
Alipay sets its own merchant fees based on your agreement and account. Evenda charges no platform fee of its own on ticket sales.
