How do I create VIP, Standard and Economy seat categories?
Create categories, choose colors and assign seats. The example has 12 VIP, 42 Standard and 18 Economy seats.

What categories do
Categories organize seats into recognizable groups. Their names and colors do not set ticket prices: configure prices separately in the event. This tutorial uses a 72-seat chart with three blocks and rows A–D.
1. Create the categories
Open Manage in the chart summary and choose Create new category. Create Standard in blue, VIP in gold and Economy in green. Use short names and distinct colors. Creating a category does not assign seats to it automatically.
2. Assign a base category
Close the category window and select every row, excluding the stage. The example selection contains 72 seats. Choose Standard in Category. All seats now have a category, and you can reassign special areas.
3. Assign VIP and Economy
Clear the selection. Select rows A and B only in the center block: 12 seats in total. Assign VIP. Then assign Economy to row D in the left, center and right blocks: six seats in each, 18 in total. Changing the category leaves seat labels and positions unchanged.
4. Check the totals
Click the capacity indicator in the summary. It should show 42 Standard, 12 VIP and 18 Economy, still totaling 72. If the counts differ, look for an extra selected row or a missed section. Every seat needs a category and a unique label.
5. Inspect names in Preview
Check at least one seat in each category. Read the category name, row and seat number instead of relying only on color. Close Preview, wait for Saved and sync. When configuring an event, check the mapping between seat categories, tickets and prices.
Why is a seat uncategorized?
Select it and choose a category in the Category field. A useful workflow is to assign Standard to all seats first, then reassign the VIP and Economy areas.
