How do I sell individual table seats or book a whole table?
Create round and rectangular tables with Book by seat and Book by table. The example has three tables of eight seats.
Follow the video tutorial and the step-by-step instructions below.
Two booking modes
Book by seat lets guests choose individual chairs. Book by table books the entire table in one selection. This example uses individual seats at T1 and T3 and whole-table booking at T2, for a total capacity of 24 people.
1. Create round table T1
Choose Round Table and click the canvas. Select the table and set Chairs to 8. Keep Automatic radius enabled so its size follows the chair count. Create and assign Table Seats through Manage. Enter T1 in Table labeling, enable Visible and retain seat numbers 1–8. Select Book by seat in Miscellaneous.
2. Create whole table T2
Duplicate the configured table, move the copy and change its label to T2. Choose Book by table. Create and assign a separate Whole Tables category. Capacity remains eight people, but the table is selected as a whole.
3. Add rectangular table T3
Choose Rectangular Table from the table tools. Set three chairs on top, three below and one at each end, totaling eight. Label it T3, enable its label and assign Table Seats. Keep Book by seat.
4. Verify capacity and labels
Add a decorative stage as a reference. The summary should show 24 places, no duplicate labels and categories for all ticketed objects. Table Seats contains 16 places; Whole Tables contains eight. Those eight places belong to one whole-table booking, so capacity differs from the number of selectable objects.
5. Compare the modes in Preview
Click a chair at T1 and check its table, seat number and Table Seats category. Click T2: the whole table should be selected with Whole Tables. Check a chair at T3; it should behave like an individual seat at T1. Wait for the chart to save and sync it.
Before opening sales
Set event prices for both categories and test the buyer journey. Check the pricing unit and final amount for each mode: one chair or an entire table. Book by table does not replace configuring the event price. Always change the table label after duplication.
